Absolutely. The customer is the only source of money a corporation has. Its the only place that the tax money can come from. If you didn't pay it from revenues from sales, then you'd have to pay it by lowering worker salaries, failing to pay dividends, etc. That'd harm the company, and it'd probably, eventually, go out of business.

Explain what source the corporation's tax money comes from if it isn't coming from the customer. Did they get a government grant to pay the tax or did the corporation print the money to pay the tax? The end result of a tax on corporations is that the customer pays the money when they buy the toaster.... and the tax is "in" the cost of the toaster. Similar to a VAT, the corporate tax is hidden in the things the customer buys. That's why I call Obama's NEW VAT tax VAT^2 because essentially it will be a VAT on what already is a VAT. |
