Like your mother, I live in the middle of the Peak District. Like her, I've never felt the slightest need of a 4x4, although everybody else seems to like poncing about in them. I've never been stuck behind a snow plough, but I have been skidded into by a 4x4 - 4-wheel drive doesn't make your brakes any better. Another Dave
