Like it or not if you say SUV in Australia people know what you are on about. Chalk another on up to American cultural imperialism. Fraser

True, expecially the ones who stop at the local take-away for cigarettes or milk and the paper they pull in and before the car has stopped, the drivers door swings out fully and you have to swerve to avoid them of coarse, if you happen to hit them, they will scream blue murder that you should have looked and taken precautions for their stupidity >> >> I swear it's only a matter of time before one of them loses a door >> when I'm too close to brake, and oncoming traffic prevents me from >> steering away from them. > > **We all experience such stupidity. > > > -- > Trevor Wilson > www.rageaudio.com.au >

Nothing large about most of them, even Subaru call the Forester an "SUV" and I wouldn't describe ours as large. Their drive train can vary, and is not > necessarily accurately described as 4WD. My objection to the term is it is used to describe anything from a small 4WD like a Grand Vitara up to vehicles like a huge 4WD Ford F series and anything in between. IMO its just laziness, instead of using a proper description a huge variety of vehicles are all labelled "SUV". Daryl |
