Looks like a slug.

Better be careful I don't start catching Vauxhalls in the beer traps in
my back garden!

Maybe not.
But us on the other hand... :)

Of course - but I bet you, like me, would take the Vectra for the superior
handling and use of the power, over the comfier seats and softer suspension
of the Saab. AFAIK you're not a badge snob either, although I'm not sure
the Saab badge is really above the Vx in one in a lot of peoples minds
anyway, certainly not like say, a Beemer or Merc would be.

Then of course the Vectra would require the old stage 3, big FMIC, full
Miltek inc pre-cat removal and sports cat (or is it cats?) and remap -
rumoured to show 330bhp+ and similar amounts of lbs/ft. Although to be
honest, I wouldn't bother with the FMIC, just the Miltek and remap for
320bhp(ish). That'd do hehe :-) Then maybe a possible uprating of the
suspension would be required - although I wouldn't wanna lower it anymore as
the VXR is pretty low anyway, and stuff with a 'too low' front bumper is too
annoying for me now after the Vee. I dunno how good the standard brakes
are, but I'd want the biggest ones I could fit under the 19s anyway, as
nothing looks cooler than a massive set of brakes filling a big alloy hehe
:-p It'd be black, with the newer part anthracitre, part shadow chrome
upgrade optional wheels and rear tints... And a bit of a weapon by the
sounds of it hehe!

If it was me though, and I had to have something a bit bigger and smallish
engined, I'd probably have a Megane R26, which as anyone that reads anything
performance car related, ever, is an awesome thing to drive, with epic
handling an a great engine. They're even reliable these days, since Abo's
iffy one heh, now they're nearing the end of the production run and the new
Megane is looming. And if you didn't need rear seats, and didn't mind
polycarb rear windows...

Now holds the production front drive record for lapping the ring. Faster
than the Focus RS, which has 60bhp more...

Whereas I'd definitely take the Saab for the better seats, less brittle
painted plastic, more comfy suspension and the auto box.

We're all petrolheads, but I can guarantee that the average bloke in the
street places Saab pretty much up there with the other prestige brands -
and streets ahead of Vauxhall.

The average bloke in the street is well aware that recent Saabs are just
tarted-up Vectras.

I'd disagree - people may know they're owned by the same company that
makes Vectras, but I don't think many are all that aware of the platform
sharing.
