They also showed a few demonstrations. <good yarn snipped> Haven't seen it performed for quite a while, but there also used to be a favourite snake oilers demo where they loaded up a revolving shaft lubricated with straight engine oil using a weighted steel bar. When things started to squeal and smoke they added the snake oil and everything ran smoothly again. Long ago, an uncle (who was a graduate engineer) told me how one his mates asked if he could try out a sample of his own brew. Naturally they couldn't refuse without making fools of themselves and, lo and behold, it also worked. I've never tried it, but according to the story his mate's brew was neat Epsom salts (a popular laxative in days of yore). The 'test' of course simulates conditions that never occur in a real engine (so there's probably not much point in feeding one Epsom salts either). :) -- John H

Where do they get the Teflon from? AFAIK Dupont have long since refused to supply it to Slick 50, and others, as they deemed it unsuitable for the purpose. -- John H

They can't use the word 'teflon' if dupont refused to let them, but they can put PTFE in their product as Dupont's patent would have expired about 40 or 50 years ago -- Kwyj.

You can call a rose (or a turd) by any other name but you can't have the original recipe without it! :) -- John H
