Well, if it is the twin charged 1.4 the supercharger part gives the low
down grunt, so won't be as bad as an NA or turbo only 1.4 and the DSG in
auto mode will handle the downshifts so you won't notice too much.

Does not alter the fact that the car will be bigger than we need once the
caravan is gone.

Why pay to lug around all that extra weight when there is no need for it?
