perhaps you suffer from hyperhidrosis? There are treatments available, but
often problemmatic.

one thing to avoid is using fabric softener/conditioner when they get
washed, it spoils the pick up action.

I had wondered if it was just normal hot weather stickiness or something
more. You've given me a name to google. Thanks for that. First glance it
seems to be about people who sweat large amounts which I don't but I'll have
a proper look tomorrow.

It was an Aldi impulse purchase. I'm almost certain it was labeled as a
microfibre bath towel. I intended to keep it at work for when I had a
shower but it was just too weird. You couldn't rub yourself dry as it sort
of stuck. You have to dab yourself with it and I much prefer a vigorous rub.
