You can either SORN or tax it NOW with the V5C/2 green slip. At the post office.

At the post > office. Thanks. I'll wait until the 1st and do it at the Post Office then. Hope the green slip will be enough as I was told they needed the full reg docu. DVLA have all my details, so why would they send it to the previous owner? They may have all my details, but I know they will still take weeks to send a new reg docu. They always do. My insurance details should be on their records too, as that's been changed over too.

Or would you prefer to pay the £80 fine AND the tax for June? > Hope the green slip will be enough as I was told they needed the full > reg Whoever told you that is clueless, as a quick google would show you. http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/content1? catId=19100187&mediaId=19100193 "If you can't use a car tax disc reminder for whatever reason, you'll need to bring the documents listed above to a Motor Vehicle Licence issuing Post Office® branch. Also bring the registration document (V5C) or tear-off portion (V5C/2) if you bought your vehicle in the last 8 weeks."

You cancel SORN by buying a tax disc. SORNing it is a no-brainer. Go into the post office and say "I want to SORN it, please". Then, on the 1st July, go into the post office and say "I want to tax it, please". |
