In the middle of July, if their records show there was still no tax bought for June, they will try to impose a charge on anyone who was a registered keeper in June. It is simple, mindless bureaucracy to stop people skipping a month.

Not like them to be generous and wait until the following month to send a fine.

I failed to tax two of my vehicles (my fault, oversight) I had two polite letters about six weeks after the expiry date offering me a 'Last Chance' to tax them from the date of the last expiry before action was taken.
