We can't all earn a living by taking in each other's washing, which is
what the financial services industry is basically all about. Somebody
has to produce products that people want to buy. The banks should only
help in the transition.

I've been surprised how good the ones on the Jeep are. Last week I was
driving in light rain to put the wipers on to "intermittent" which is
also "Auto" but I don't get my head under the steering wheel so I hadn't
seem the "Auto" marking.

I didn't think about the wipers again until part way through the drive.
The rain had turned to a downpour and the wipers have speeded up without
me doing anything then slowed down and finally turned themselves off as
the rain stopped.

I'm assuming they must be working well if the were as unintrusive as
they seemed to be.

Clue: It's just a car.

All cars have them. It's no surprise there's one for Skodas that's also
"inhabited by some very knowledgeable enthusiasts and parts seem not to
be a problem." That's because, guess what? It's just a car.

The point of automatic operation is that it should perform the
operation as well or better than the driver would be able to do. The
rain sensor works very well indeed, so well I never felt the need to
touch the wiper switch at all. The screen got wet it gave a wipe, it
rain continuously the wipers ran continuously until the rain eased.

It seems to be and faster reaction than my old motor.
