BMW funded and it seems a lot of BMW parts. From what I can make out -
they were basically given a blank cheque by BMW to develop a luxury
motor range.

True.
At one time I owned two 528i E39's.
The one I sold had a factory fitted sunroof as well as the std climate
control.
The key could be used to simultaneously close the s/roof and all open
windows.

Expert on BMW specs, are you? In the UK a sunroof was only offered on non
climate control E39s - at least at first. They were in such demand you
took the spec you were offered.

Not with any knowledge of the 75, but does the one-shot window operation
work? On some cars, if the battery's been off and the windows not
reinitialised, then things like global close won't work.
