Actually Doddy, they've been rising in all but the trades that are
disappearing overseas or those where a better path is though a degree
course.

But of course you're ecome to you uninformed and unsupported opinion.

Sure Ozliar.

That's why the building trade is currently being slowed down due to a
shortage of bricklayers, and the electrician who just finished the rough ins
at my new house hasn't been able to get an apprentice for the last 12
months.

Being a "plumber" you'd know all about this stuff, right? Oh, wait a minute,
you never *did* an apprenticeship did you? You got your "qualifications"
doing an adult trainee Tafe course.

What does that qualify you to do? Change a tap washer? :)

Actually Doddy...apprentice numbers have been rising in all but the
trades that are disappearing overseas or where a better path is
through a degree course.

So you keep saying, but that *doesn't* mean there aren't shortages in
particular areas now, does it brains?

Oh I agree wholeheartedly...There ARE shortages of trained people in
some fields in some states.

However YOU stated
"Apprentice rates have been dwindling for years, and it seems mainly
because
so few kids are interested in trade jobs today."

I thought a jet just went over, seems it may have been your goalposts
shifting!
