It doesn't matter how you try to educate them as to road rules when in a moment of madness they suddenly dart across the road or walk out in front of the bus they just got out of for so many reasons. It does happen. It happened to my own son. He had no reason to cross the road from the bus stop he and some others were waiting at, but for some stupid reason they decided to have races to see who could touch the fence across the road. The car just pulled up as it touched him and he got away with very minor abrasions. He then learnt his lesson but up till then we thought that we had trained him well. PhilD

Can't remember early morning times, but they're all the same statewide. And there are signs as you approach the SZ to advise you of this. But, a cheap alternative would be to use the big red flags to alert motorists to the currently active school times, so that motorists who don't have kids and who aren't aware of when "school times" are, won't be pinged. I wonder how many have been done for doing 60 in a 40 school time zone, at one minute after/before the start/end times? You'd hope that the coppers would give you the benefit of the doubt. But if there are speed cameras set up, then you're a victim of the "scientific instrument" that is the super calibrated ex peditious revenue raiser and therefore it cannot be argued against. Unless, of course, you have an atomic clock in your car and it's connected to a webcam and a photo printer... |
