From: mcbrue on 15 Apr 2010 01:18 Gee, that would be soooo expensive. Why would they do that? I mean just a few tip-overs and a few dead people vs the money savings?! Really, ya gotta look at Obama and his liberal pals who want to kill lots more americans with these little teeny tiny small cars that have much higher accidental death rates. Sure, they do save gas, but they kill many more people in their more frequent accidents. So whats wrong with a fierce, warlike people like the Japanese killing a lot fewer with a tipsy wipsy suv?

Mercedes Benz had the same problem a few years ago. They stopped sales and production, and fixed the issue. That is what I would expect any responsible car maker to do.

BTW I saw a bit of footage of a semi-power slide with one of these. No sign of the gas being hit hence my use of the word "semi", but the vehicle was going at least 60 Mph, and did a sharp turn to the right. The vehicle slid sideways about 5' but no sign of any more roll after the steering stopped. More bullshit from vested interest groups. Try that in a SUV without stability control and see what happens. -- (setq (chuck nil) car(chuck) ) |
