As a first year apprentice I used to spend a lot of time doing predelivery checks on forklifts and tractors, we used to receive them unpainted so we had to check every nut and bolt and put a chalk mark on each one, if the boss found a bolt without a chalk mark it usually resulted some sort of abuse but that was close to 40yrs ago and I very much doubt anything much gets checked these days. The 'checked through pre-delivery' list goes on, but my favourite was a friend's brand new pride and joy Peugeot 306 cabrio that was delivered with a very tasteful grey trim, but one grey and one black front seat! Just for idle interest, especially now that many vehicles don't need rego inspections for a few years, have a look at just how many cars under 3yo have badly aligned hadlamps, including plenty on trade plates. -- Posted at www.usenet.com.au

They always have been. 1500 bucks or whatever it is to screw on the number plates and give the car a quick wash is the best rort in town :) -- Regards, Noddy.

Current Subie is the only car I've ever owned (new or secondhand) that didn't need headlamp adjustment... probably only because it's got HID's from factory. I also take notice of aftermarket driving lamps when I'm walking down the street. It's rare to see a pair that even point vaguely in the same direction! -- John H |
