So the upshot of this would seem to be that for the last four years at
least, people who took Tritons (and for all we know anything else) to
authorised Mitsubishi service agents were possibly being defrauded and
it's only come to light now because a bunch of bolts decided to become
whistle blowers.

Oh. So what would *you* call it?

No it's not.

You made your original comment in some pissweak apologist attempt to hose
the problem down because it's a "Mitsubishi issue". If it was a Holden fault
you'd be falling all over yourself to tell everyone how bad it is.

Your original comment *also* showed everyone how little you know about what
goes on when it comes to servicing cars. Be it by the book or otherwise.

Total, complete and utter bullshit :)

As someone who ran a dealership service department for a couple of years
with a staff of 10 and servicing between 30 and 50 cars a day I can
categorically tell you that there is *no way* a ball joint bolt problem
would be picked up on *any* service unless the ball joint was about to fall
out of the car or the technician had been specifically instructed to look
for it.
