What "physics" would those be? The no body roll in your vehicle kind? Here's something to consider... your vehicle, if it matches with chicago area speed limits must be something made in the 1930s, is not the same as everybody elses. Many many vehicles on the road can shatter the posted speed limits yet still pass all your comfort and traction requirements of blandness.

Because you make such stupid statements like if you are speeding your tires will be squealing (tires may even start to make audible noises that they are losing traction) and "the vehicle chassis leans", oh dear, god forbid that the suspension DO SOMEHTING. You talk about the "laterals being noticeable" as if they never are if you go the speed limit - newsflash, they don't even put up advisory signs unless the lateral force is around 0.2 G's. Going 66 in a 65 zone is speeding and there is essentially zero chance it's going to make your tires squeal. You have a completely idiotic black/white mind set as if the "speed limit" came down from GOD. Speed limits are set by people gathering limited data, applying a standard analysis approach and then rounding DOWN. And that's if it's done "properly", which is very rare. And after that it's then adjusted even lower by timid bureaucrats who buy into the "if it saves one life" nonsense and dream up all sorts of reasons why the road is not really safe to be driven on at the speed the public finds perfectly reasonable. They then they often shave another 5 or 10 off the proper speed limit "just to be safe". All this in spite of study after study showing that speed limits, per se, have almost no effect on actual traffic speeds NOR ON ACCIDENTS and that the typical driver is perfectly capable of driving at a safe speed for conditions and that includes even the horrible drivers we have here in the US who can barely find their tail pipe even if you shove it someplace where the sun don't shine. |
