Car damages cemetery.
Once again demonstrating the sheer destructive force of a car compared to the much maligned bicycle. "A woman from South Gloucestershire has said she is "devastated" by the damage she caused at a cemetery after losing control of her car. Shirley Potts, who is a Labour member of South Gloucestershire Council, w... 13 Apr 2010 16:15
judge gets it right
A judge has criticised police for going for easy targets rather than dealing with crimes which have affected other people. "A judge today hit out at a police force and accused them of concentrating more on harassing motorists than dealing with serious crime and its victims. Judge Richard O'Rorke made the comm... 9 Apr 2010 11:12

My drive this morning, nearly went pear shaped
Started well, no traffic. Amused by the suited tory faithful marching along the road with estate agent style posts like sloped rifles to plant in true believers front gardens, Cameron's little army. Then had to stop to let a traffic light cross the road (a temporary one being pushed) Then it happened Lane 1,... 24 Apr 2010 13:57
Rip off Kwik Fit
Catalytic converter went. Took car to Kwik Fit and they wanted nearly £400 for both pieces. So went to ATS and they did it for £169. First part much cheaper than Kwik Fit and second part wasn't even needed as they repaired it. Kwik Fit used to be cheap from what I can remember and was madly busy. Now the place i... 10 Apr 2010 16:51
Are mobility scooters and bicycles worse than Toyotas?
Given all the excuses here made for Toyota faults and the deaths they have caused, everywhere else except the UK seemingly, and given that there is alleged by some to be an arbitrary threshold below which any ensuring deaths don't matter one jot and neither do the faults, what do you think should be done about this... 10 Apr 2010 08:03
Driving UK roads
Hello fellow roads enthusiasts! I've recently taken up the challenge of driving every mile of public road in the UK. I guess lots of other people on this forum are doing the same (or have already finished?!) so any advice would be welcomed! Any tips for planning routes to maximize road coverage, any pitfalls ... 7 Apr 2010 04:38
Scrappage scheme farce...
Sitting nose to tail on a disused airstrip, these cars form a tiny part of the massive backlog of vehicles destined for the scrap heap. The number standing idly on the runway has swelled to around 14,000 as mechanics struggle to cope with the popularity of the Government's scrappage scheme, which ended last week... 26 Apr 2010 08:05
storing drivers movements
In a recent thread, it was suggested that there was no reason to store people's movements in a database. So why, I wonder, is it being done? Police are secretly photographing up to 14 million motorists a day and storing their details for years, it has emerged. "Images of drivers and their front seat passenger... 9 Apr 2010 19:02
Another pavement motorist kills
And the motorists here have the barefaced cheek to keep banging on about cyclists on pavements! "Man dies as car hits Birmingham bus shelter A pedestrian was killed when a car crashed into a bus shelter in Birmingham. Emergency services were called to the scene in Stratford Road, Hall Green, on Friday morni... 6 Apr 2010 07:31
