If you want to post uninformed bilge you could always read the
construction & use regulations 1st then there's a chance that you won't
sound like an idiot. It's a pretty slim chance though.

anyway, of course, to the OP the vosa man may also have been watching for
dodgy number plates, vanity plates, damaged, etc.

VOSA can stop you being able to continue to even drive out of the
checkpoint. The Police are there when there is not a VOSA officer
available who has been given the powers to stop vehicles.
