RS3100 was indeed the later one. The Mk1 was the 3000GT, with the old
Zephyr6/Zodiac straight 3L droppped in. Something like 8.5 0-60MPH & mid
16s for a standing quarter mile would be about right, which was still
pretty good for a 3L coupe in the late 60s.

One article I found quoted from a Ford ad that it would reach 100mph
"inside 10secs"

The '69 Mk1 woud barely reach 100MPH in *30* seconds. It took 9.5 to reach
60MPH!
Maybe the Oz one had more power? The article claims 144Hp against 135 for
the UK market model and 195Km/H instead of 185. That's still only around
the same power/weight ratio as a Proton Satria Gti or the original Peugeot
206 GTi (not the 170). They'll both do well under 10s 0-100, but not for
0-160!

The Cosworth version of the Mk4 reportedly put out 435Hp. That sounds
closer to being able to achieve those sort of numbers. Cheers

An old 78-85 202 powered Holden Commodore would stuggle to do those times.

Nice toys but they seem to be race only cars and not street legal so not
really much of a comparison although the RS3100 that it was based on was
a street car and an XYGT beater.
