When I bought the XM it came with an aftermarket warranty. There was a
slight drip from the water pump. The warranty paid out with no quibble
for the water pump to be changed - and didn't even ask for a "betterment"
fee for doing the cambelt at the same time. They also paid out for a
replacement suspension pipe due to a slight leak at one end - even
though, by the time the pipe was finally delivered, the warranty had
expired.

I forget whose warranty - might have been CarCarePlan.

DOH!!! What a pillock I am! Our warranty is indeed CarCarePlan through the
CSMA - NOT Warranty Direct as I stated earlier. Sorry folks :o)

They have fairly sensibly picked a manufacturer that they won't offend, and
possibly appealed to former customers of that brand who might be more
concerned about how to get repair work done.
Yes, it's a deliberate decision to pick a rover but I don't think they are
saying that they are more likely to break than others.
