Small four seater, interior plastics are the apallingly cheaply made, the motor vibrates badly at idle and the styling looks like the design team got a start but then ran out of money. Though the Getz is getting on and is soon to be replaced, It's still better value all things considered. Ofcourse not buying a new and buying a 2 year old one will mean you will pay $8000-9000 and you will still have three years of warranty remaining - and someone else has taken the depreciation hit for you.

That's exactly what I thought. The 3 cylinders are noisy too but the fuel economy apparantly is excellent. It's just for the missus to drive around town in and to pick up the kids. > > Though the Getz is getting on and is soon to be replaced, It's still > better value all things considered. So that must be why they are offering 5 doors for the price of 3. I haven't bought a 2nd hand car for 30 years or so, only new ones and yes I agree the depreciation is shocking. It's just I've never had much luck with 2nd hand vehicles so I've been turned off them forever. What you say though makes sense though. Regards Milton > >

What you say though makes sense though. > The thing is, you can buy a 2 year old car under warranty for say $9000, saving you $4000. There is nothing that is going to go wrong with that car in three years that is going to cost anything, still leaving you $4000 in front. So in three years time you sell the Getz for $5000 and you only need to spend what you saved in the first place to buy another 2 year old Korean car with another 3 year warranty. You will never be driving a car that isn't covered by the manufacturers warranty and you're still going to be in front. |
