Certainly had a much better engine and trans but IMO they still suffered
with the same appalling handling and equally bad brakes.
IMO the first Holden that had almost acceptable handling was the HK, it
was certainly a big improvement over previous models.

Yeah,..the HD saw the introduction of less turns lock to lock, but heaps of
caster,..which made it track OK,..but increased the steering
heaviness,..which was already heavy from the reduced LtoL.

LtoL improved dramatically with HK front end on and the stops
removed.

Optional I believe.
I recall a certain Brisnaee tech fleet was equipped with HR Vans, the only
option they were blessed with was the front disks.
Saved the young gents driving them plenty of prangs I guess, except the
classic one achieved when one did an instant right turn into the wall of
the tunnel under his workshop when the mounting bolts sheared on the LH
caliper:-)
