Damn, that's interesting....I wonder what we were driving when we put things like Holden 6's and Lotus twin cams into Anglias The Anglia sported a range of power plants from a 113E 1340cc to 116E 1500cc later supercharged then taken out to 1760cc and later replaced with a BRM tuned Lotus Twin Cam. The car was raced continually at almost every eastern state circuit including Hume Weir, Catalina Park and Bathurst and many times at the famous Warwick Farm Grand Prix Circuit .The Lotus Anglia was written off in a crash at Surfers Paradise during the1972 new years meeting. Over the next couple of years the Giant Killer Ford Escort sports sedan was built by Ward in his performance tuning workshop in outer suburban Sydney known then as Wardspeed Automotive The ex Piers Courage Cosworth FVA engine was purchased in damaged condition from Pat Bourke Racing and restored by Ward and installed into the Escort . http://www.aussieracingcars.com.au/phil.htm Neil Byers Making his racing debut in 1970, driving a Holden 6-cylinder powered Ford Anglia, http://www.mumboracing.com/drivers/index.html Don't tell me...we weren't racing "Sports Sedans" we were racing 'sports sedans' Something to do with CAMS changing the NAME of an already established category....and altering the regs. Tell me Nod, in your not so humble opinion, what would YOU call a car that had been extensively lightened, had a different engine, transmission and suspension installed yet comformed to a basic silhouette formula...? We called them sports sedans... IIRC CAMS called the Sports Racing Closed.....maybe you could look that one up in a CAMS Manual BEFORE 1976. OH and the never won by a Mini.....better have a think about classes....You know the race within the race where cars with similar engine capacities race for their championship.... Problem you have Nod is that you weren't there....I was! OzOne of the three twins I welcome you to Crackerbox Palace.

You know, you continually replying to people with "no it wasn't, no it wasn't" without going on to offer any proof of *why* it wasn't doesn't make you look particularly clever. -- Regards, Noddy.
