No, it wouldn't be Oz, and this is where your whole argument goes down the
toilet :)

"Mowog" has never been defined as anything specific. *Some* say it stood for
Morris Wolseley Garages, some say it meant Morris Wolseley MG, while others
have different ideas. The point being that what it may originally have stood
for was completely irrelevant at the time of the Mini as it ceased to be a
going concern when BMC was incorporated in 1952.

From that point on, "Mowog" existed as *nothing* other than a foundry stamp,
and the theory is that it continued as the traditional stamp at the old
Morris foundry partly for sentimental reasons, but mainly because it was
easier to do than the BMC "Rosette" that was the company's symbol at the
time.

"Mowog" was never a "tuning house" for BMC at any time, despite your claims.

> Planning on shifting a goalpost Nod? Maybe initiate a little diversion?

That's pretty funny coming from a guy who doesn't even know when the company
ceased to exist, but claims that they "made parts for BMC" long after they
did :)

You *have* been quoted on that Oz, but chose to ignore it.

Your turn.

Sorry Nod...But as you so profoundly state.
No-one (according to your Googling I assume) really knows if its
Morris Wolseley or Morris Wolsely MG.

So any argument you might have is purely YOUR interpretation.

Oh,,,and MoWoG remained on the castings well nto the 70's.
Have a look sometime!

Nope. I've been misquoted....YOU had the post with the exact words
"going into production"

No-one has come up with that post, despite their craving your pat on
the head.

Good reason Nod..It was never said...

I thought I said that already? :)

How does that even make sense? Still, it does nothing to address the issue
of "Morris wolseley garages" being defunct long before the Mini was ever
born or there being a BMC "special tuning" department.

Pretty hard to be a "specialist tuner" when the company didn't exist, huh?
:)

Mowog remained on just about everything cast in the old Morris foundry until
BMC became part of Leyland. From that point on the "Mowog" casting mark was
replaced with the "Leyland" symbol.
