'erself has had the same 2cv since 1986. We did ~1,500 miles in it to/
round/from Normandy the other week.

I've just never quite figured the "sell" bit. We have four currently.

I dunno about Mike, but my total seems to be... <counts on fingers, runs
out of fingers, starts on toes> Three vans, two-to-three Meharis, two
Amis, a Dyane or two, mebbe six or seven 2cvs. Depends quite what you
count, I s'pose.

You're not wrong. I remember having an R-plate Ashtray as a hire car
years ago - the Pug is a 169000 mile R plate now.
The Ashtray was a nice place to sit in, with it's aircon but not
interesting in the slightest. It was brown as well (!!)

Can't be right. That suggests that the 306 is nearly twice as reliable
overall as the R75, spending less time off the road, with repair bills
considerably smaller - despite being older and higher mileage.

Kev would surely not get so confused, would he?

Old age brings senility and a desire to return to the olden days, when
all things French were bad and stank of garlic, and all things good
were British (well, German in the 75's case)...

In view of the fact that you place so much faith in this one survey -
perhaps you would like to take a look at the list of the worst ten car makes
for reliability and tell me where Saab comes? (I'll give you a clue - it
comes 10th). Must be right though mustn't it?
