Actually, I do know _exactly_ what trade prices are. Your typical local
village garage pays their friendly regional wholesaler not much less than
you could buy 'em from the internet sites from.

If they drive as you describe, they will use (and pay for) more fuel than
if they took bends in a higher gear.
