I can't think of any other reason why they last on the wagon and not on
the ute, maybe lower suspension affects the way the tyre sits on the
road, they do wear out on the inside edges.

The Sportwagon has a variant of the old FE2 suspension in that it has a
larger front sway bar and *something* (I can't remember) at the rear. The
suspension is otherwise identical to all other FE2 equipped VEs.

I'm certain the extra Kw of the V8 may make a difference as well..... ;-)
...... probably influenced enormously by the driver...
