Hi Douglas,
Its 2001 year, and i think the courtesy light switch is something to
do with the door lock as they ain't no switch on the door jamb
anywhere. i were going to tackle taking the door apart but alas the
weather is against me so as soon as the weather changes am going to
have a look at the lock and what ever else maybe behind the door
panel, its not even letting me lock the car at all now which means i
cannot go anywhere and its cracking me up....!

Inside the doors.
Usually they are wired with 2 or 4 wires and attach to the door
lock/latch with a rod or a push/pull cable.

IIRC modern Cits have no adjustment on the hinge, no bolts. The hinges
are welded on. As you say, made to be put together by (garlic munching,
pissed, communist) monkeys.

i only bought the car 6 months ago but the battery looks quite new and
a dont know when the battery was changed in the fob...? but i cannot
see it been owt to do with the batterys,,, its something to do with
the passenger door but i dont know what...?
