If you're going to German town centres you'll need to get one of these for your car: http://green.autoblog.com/2008/01/07/green-zones-offers-window-badges-for-cars-entering-environmental/ Paradoxically, during the trial period (which may or may not have ended) cars with a red (bad) sticker are still allowed in the zones, but cars with no sticker at all (including foreign registered ones) are liable to be fined! tim

The idea of the stickers seems a good idea. The idea of making drivers pay for them is a bad idea - yet another tax on doing something.
