A driver exploded today from boredom when driving on a road that was perfectly
safe for a much higher speed. The low speed limit set by the evil and corrupt
alien forces watching over us all have claimed another life.
We mourn the loss of this driver and the loss of our freedom.
No, he wasn't in an Avalon.

A distinct possibility as I was stuck behind a black NSW registered Prius when I
went for a ride. I almost exploded from boredom, but trying to maintain balance
at such a low speed due to lack of gyroscopic effect, although heavy on the arms
and aging body parts, probably saved my life according to the aliens. My engine
almost seized from lack of use. No wonder a Prius can get good fuel economy.
Those bastards.
On the way back I encountered an old gent in a 4WD doing a similar low speed and
when it was safe to pass he pulled to the left allowing me room to pass, unlike
the smug fart inhaling Prius owner.

Yeah DUH!
It's the same as people who test a Prius on an interstate trip....It's
obviously gonna use more fuel because it's as much designed for that
as a Ferrari is designed to tootle around town!

Granted, but....
At the moment *my* car is a 1990 Saab 900 sedan on LPG.
The car cost me $3K years ago with a genuine 120,000Km and full history.
Uncle Kevin paid all bar $300 for the gas conversion.
I drive it everywhere and for everything
(when I can't blag my wife's GTi!)
I don't care *how* bad the fuel consumption is,
there is *no way* that my overall costs including depreciation
could ever exceed the cost of owning a Prius over 5 years,
let alone a Fazza.
So in a real world scenario,
it's doing a better job *for me* than either of them.
it's doing the job better
