it seems like a good service which i think i will investigate further
as they have a good reputation in glasgow where i stay

I don't see why Ray's experience points to the need for the "chains" to work
only via the franchise model.

Trainees could be treated equally poorly as employees. The "testing" regime
is not controlled by the companies, so they could not be expected to offer
contracts that guarantee employment (or day to day work) if you fail.
