Think it through... The average car uses about 16HP to hold 100kph so,
assuming similar BSFC and VE they'll both be about the same. In practice,
the V8 will be fractionally worse because of: weight, frictional losses etc)

There is something wrong with your car then, I can regularly better that
with a supercharged 3.8L V6.

If a SV6 Sportwagon gets over 11L/100K in heavy driving then, something is
wrong with the driver. 10.5L/100K is more like it.

Yes, typical for highway driving.....but over a range of normal
driving conditions it'll be far less and more than a similar V6 over
the same normal driving conditions.

I know you won't agree however testing by experts using defined
criteria has shown this to be so.

Nobody suggested otherwise, but people in the real world don't drive to a
specific set of tests and they often buy vehicles that best suit their
purposes.
