no argument from me
the trip from Sydney to Brisbane should only take 10 hours not 12
and should be flood proof and divided the entire length

the other problem is that a lot of these small places almost get wiped
out if the highway bypasses them because a lot of local business rely on
passing trade

but on the other hand it would be great to sit on the bank of the rivers
having lunch without a constant flow of traffic(heavy and light) 20
metres away

And until a bypass is done then we have a 50kph limit....that IS being
enforced

That was claimed by business people in the towns on the Hume in Vic that
are now all by passed, it mainly affected roadhouses but the world
didn't come to an end as many predicted.
I know the person who owned roadhouses in Winton and Euroa which are
both now closed, he wasn't happy and he lost some income but he had
other sources of income and he's still quite wealthy.
