They made a lot of people a *lot* of money.

Three vehicles played a very significant role in buying my first house, and
they were the first model Magna, the late 80's Ford Transit and the EA/EB
Falcon. Thanks to Ford and MMAL putting out such absolute rubbish, my
business thrived and I made a very good living.

I also have no reason to complain about the junk MMAL and Ford produced in
that era either, it went a long way towards paying off my mortgage by age
30 ;-)

You've reminded me of a car dealer in Parramatta about 30 yrs ago. They
had 5 or 6 earlyish (but new then) Geminis as their courtesy car fleet.
When they were subsequently replaced with Barinas, the service and repair
bill for all the Barinas combined was about the same as it had been for
*each* Gemini the year before.
