My kid has a 1995 Bonneville.
Very clean, excellent runner with no problems.
Except:
He already did the intake manifold gaskets and plenum because I read
they fail. His were on the edge.
A few days ago he found his cradle connections were almost all shot
when he was hunting down a steering issue.
Wouldn't even drive it when he saw that, so he took my Grand Am.
He's replaced them now. Cradle was ok.
The isolators, retainers, washers, bolts cost $505 at the dealer.
GMPartsDirect cost is $336 but who knows how long before they get
shipped, if they'll all be correct, etc., so he bit the bullet at the
dealer.
Sometimes that's best. I had to convince him, but he's happy with it.
Besides, I didn't want to wait weeks to get my Grand Am back.
Can't say how common this cradle connector problem is, but common
enough that you should check it if you have this era Bonneville or
similar cradle setup.
Seen it also happens to Luminas/Montes but they are 4 connector
instead of the Bonneville 6 connector.
I'd welcome any pro input here, because I have a Lumina.
Think I'll have the kid put it on the rack before long to check the
mounts.

My dad had the rear cradle mounts rust through on his way home from work
several years ago. Luckily the steering column was strong enough to hold up
the back of the cradle and he made it home OK. This was on an 87 Celebrity
wagon. We stole the mounts off of our 93 Lumina APV to fix the Celebrity
because the van had a blown engine.
