Ray - would you stop in the centre of a road, any road, indicating
right and stay there for 45 seconds - reading, opening fags, on the
phone, or map reading?

I certainly would not, it is a very dangerous thing to do and why have
her indicator running for all of that time? Safety was in making right
turn, where she could have quite safely stopped for just as long as she
wanted. There was a well marked lay bye 30 yds ahead of her and to her
left, hence no reason to even stop on the road at all.

There was no evidence of any of those activities or distractions as I
passed and as soon as I had passed, she made the right turn.

No, but there are plenty of drivers out there who would.

Stop thinking like a driver who cares for a moment :-)
