If it thinks one of the doors is open, things can get screwy. I don't know about the BCM needing updating, it's possible - contact a Ford dealer and see if you can get more information. You might have to try a few to get anything useful though.

Only a suggestion, Ive never done one to be honest. If you unlock the passengers door with a key does it unlock all doors or just that one?
