What makes you think that the people who would dismiss the whole lot because one or two of the incidents are staged have any common sense?

Agreed: the music was so *unbelievably tedious* that it was impossible to watch more than a relatively short section of the film. The only staged incident I noticed was the one with the train on the level crossing. The train arrived immediately, whereas everyone knows that once the barriers have swung into place you have time to go and buy a paper before the train passes the crossing.
