Just take a big water container with you and get a year's supply.

Why not just use filtered water, I do.

If someone offered you 1.67 to go to the supermarket would you take
the job?

Presumably because Basingstoke is a hard water area. Although I have a
feeling some mineral water is hard water, depending on where it's from.

I looked around but I didn't have all day to spend in there and having
looked along several aisles I gave up. If one wants to buy air freshener
or over-priced cleaning products or over-priced under-specced audio
systens then these feature prominently. There was a rack of ready mixed
screenwash outside and a large table marked "screenwash" that only had
varieties of ready mixed (yellow, pink and blue).

Well yes, which is why I usually use one of the motor spares places
around here. They still operate a walk up to the counter ask for what
you want policy but they tend to have everything necessary and they can
find it faster than I can search Halfords. Oh, and they are cheaper than
Halfords.
