It has 163000km on the clock and I paid $6700 for it which I thought was
a reasonable price for the car locally. The thing is that there have
been all sorts of issues including nearly 2 weeks before I got a
roadworthy certificate for it. It came with 3 years warranty through AWN
however the car has done less than 1000km since I bought it and has
spent around 5 days in various workshops having work done. It was just
within the statutory warranty period. Considering there was oil pissing
out of the motor, gearbox and diff I feel I am entitled to have it fixed.

You certainly are. I'd be aiming at the RWC supplier (which is probably
themselves) as a means of persuasion. You just can't have leaking oil
anywhere. Obviously the RWC was a dodgy as it just won't spring that many
oil leaks that soon.

My old man picked up an AU for $800 at a gov auction as it was not suitable
for dealers having too many K's on the clock. Passed RWC on 1st try, he got
it for use when he does house swaps twice a year and an extra car. I drove
it for over a thousand K's last trip and it goes well and showed no signs of
trouble. Sometimes it's better to have a high Km well maintained car than a
low km thrashed one. I drove his car on the long trip as my vehicle does
less than 3 weeks work a year and was suspect about the seals after 5 years
of that.

163,000klms and all those oil leaks????
I'd be checking with QLD Tpt rego records if it has been transfered a
couple of times to see what the odo readings were for it's last RWC

might have had a replacement dash fitted or the speedo doctored

Done that. Rego records show nothing out of the ordinary other than it
was used as a commercial vehicle.

Originally bought in 2002. Sold in 2005 with around 35000km. Sold to me
with 163000km.

I'm guessing it may have been used at one of the local refineries.
