The choice hasnt been so easy for a long while> back to the '50s with Abbott
and his school-days Nulla nulla to educate us,. or a woman's version of the
ALP.
Back to full blown "work-choices" or some sanity from Julia.

A while back, Austar was advertising the function of the red button on their
remote. Some wags were filmed offering their opinion on what the "red"
button should do,..one said "press it to erase that mental picture I still
have in my mind, of Abbott in his speedos,...LOL!!

How come you get to vote in two electorates when most of us only get
to choose between Coalition and ALP candidates, or a watermelon in
some cases?

Clearly the Wesminster system is totally fucked when you get to choose
the PM and we end up with the ruling party you deserve! :)

I'll be voting for our sitting member because she's actually helped to
achieve a lot for this electorate in the last decade and a half. From what
I've seen, I've only lived in one other federal seat where the local
member has been more visible, more accessible, or taken pains to be more
accountable.

Actually you have a point,..what's to stop that venerated old institute
within the ALP called "the Caucus" from giving Julia the sack? Nothing. The
KRudd dismissal is a stark reminder of ALP internal factional
bloody-mindedness and power. It's about time they dismantled this subversive
influence. Rudd was an elected official, by the people, how dare they
disregard this fact.

My mother was a Liberal voter until I received my call-up notice (the
unhappy ballet) for Vietnam in 1972. Lucky for me, EG Whitlam was elected
shortly afterwards, probably on the card "bring our boys home" and I was off
the hook. Since that time till she passed, she voted Labour. After my notice
(I was 20) I thought the prospect of serving in Vietnam, a potentially
exciting adventure. I said this to one of my Aunts, who's husband was
injured in WWII, she said one sentence I wont forget> "wash your mouth out"
The exuberent empty-headedness of youth.

Stupid Outlook Express crashed and repeated itself. Just as well I'm moving
to Win7 and can't use it soon.
