I suspect that you'd have been crying "foul" then as well. In general when one quotes something one quotes it verbatim. As you well know, but you're on one of your missions, again, I see. What the quote did show was that the claim of you and others that the *average* price differential diesel-petrol was "less than 1k" was arong and that your claims about payback time were wrong as well. And in later posts you proved that you are mathematically illiterate. Quelle surprise.

If I was *really* bored, I could reel off loads more examples which disprove that figure, *and* I've already acknowledged that certain types of car will almost certainly have a higher differential than £2k. I also then went a stage further and pointed out that the initial purchase difference is offset by the resale value of the cars concerned, illustrating how in the example relating to Mk4 Golfs. You seem to want to dispute the figures I gave in said examples, but don't appear to want to actually show where the calculations I made were wrong - funny that, eh. You've then, when picked up on some flawed shite you've quoted from where, no-one actually knows because you were too senile to paste the URL for the source concerned as part of the post concerned, gone on to mutter the following: 'That was a quote, from the same article that you wish to believe some of but not all of.' That implies I've read an article and have stated I agree / disagree with some of it - I didn't, but nice try at muddying the waters. T'was you who decided to quote the gem relating to the difference between petrol and diesel being 12p a litre, not me... and others picked you up on it as well. Consider why they did that before coming out with yet more waffle aimed at deflecting attention from the fact you've voluntarily come out with ill informed guff in this thread time and time again and continued to press it even when conclusively proven to be talking out of your shitter. -- JackH
