I'm doing the same thing as push-jump start!
I'm trying some tips mentioned by these hyper-milers. One of them is to turn off the engine while approaching the intersection with traffic light on red. Sometimes due to the distance, I lost the power to brake. So I tried using the 2nd gear to slow down the car. (Note: I only do this with enough distance between c... 14 Jun 2010 11:49
Fueling your car with natural gas from home
Dear Everyone, as you know the price of the Oil is more and more increasing, while the oil supply is decreasing. Moreover Oil is causing wars, terror, oil spills, a lot of greenhouse gases. Do you know that there is plenty of natural gas ? The supply will last for many decades, probably for hundred years. A lot o... 11 Jun 2010 19:18
Where do we get dealer's true cost (invoice?) for a Honda Accord or CRV?
Where can I get the dealer's true cost for a Honda Accord or CRV? I went to Edmunds but they only have something called "true value", which is not the dealer cost but what people (somehow told them they) paid. I googled and found tons of car salesmen who would give me car quotes by email if I gave them all my p... 17 Jun 2010 20:08

Locked rear wheels?
2002 Corolla, rear drum brakes, no ABS. Most often, I commute on my motorcycle: faster, easier, cheaper... :) So, since last friday night above mentioned Corolla was parked in sheltered garage. This morning I decided that I deserve A/C, power steering and comfy seats and tried to go to work with it. To my surpri... 11 Jun 2010 11:30
coolant system corrosion
I thought I would find some issues with you here, but your points are not at all bad. "Electrolysis" is a catch-all word that people use instead of electrochemical explanations. It is not an all inclusive term. Galvanic corrosion often occurs when metals of two unlike redox potentials are connected with... 29 Jun 2010 05:19
worn bearing cause low oil pressure?
I noticed low oil pressure when the revs are down. So I get out the workshop manual, and it lists among the possible causes "worn bearings". How is it so? I can't see that oil is pumped through the bearings in a closed fashion, such that worn bearing would reduce the back pressure. ... 11 Jun 2010 15:57
