Recovering the property in good shape but the thief getting away is not an option.

You did and repeatedly mentioned that in order to drive the car after push-starting it, one of the things needed was to "take the car out of park." Again, I ask, since you mentioned that one needs to "take the car out of park" in order to drive it after push-starting it, how does one push start a car with an automatic transmission?
