You can say I am until you're blue in the face, it still won't make it
so..

My passport has nothing to do with it.

Unfortunately for you, it does.

You live in a country, and have a passport from, a country that is part
of the European Economic Community. This makes you a European.

What is it that's so hard to understand about this concept?

Wrong.

Where I live is totally irrelevant. If I were to move to Mars, would that
make me a Martian..?

I am still not a European and nothing you say will ever make me say I am.
Stop trying. I can promise you one thing, you will get tired of this long
before I do.

I have no doubt that you're more anal / pedantic about this than me.

Everything, because it isn't true.
