Motoring policy
I wonder what it will be? The tories are the most pro car, the libs the least (the new guard being mostly metrosexual trendies? Although there are plenty of remote rural seats where most people know the value of a car). The tories were talking about abolishing camera partnerships, wonder if that will happen? -- ... 15 May 2010 07:14
Courtesy too far.
A bloke stopped his car to wave someone out of a filling station - in doing so, he blocked the path of a car that was turning out of the other side of the road to tuck in behind him - which blocked my path travelling in the opposite direction (on a clear road). He had stopped about 30 feet short of the car that... 15 May 2010 18:08

Detrimental consequences of car use - an EU wide problem.
This was posted to the carfree network list and might be of interest to vulnerable road users. Also the bit about Greek police is revealing. "We all know that one of the most detrimental consequence of car use in the cities is the huge proportion of unbuilt space dedicated to their needs, leaving only a tiny s... 9 May 2010 07:51
Personalised number plates
Why do people waste money on these things? These plates do nothing to enhance the appearance of a vehicle. Or do they? Maybe I'm missing something. They seem to be more popular on SUVs/4x4s. I carried out a very unscientific survey the other day to make the journey slightly less boring. Around 1 in 5 of ... 10 May 2010 01:15
Why is there always an accident at Clacket Lane on M25?
On the radio yet again this morning - an accident at Clacket Lane services. Is there something particularly bad about the way the exits roads to this service station have been designed? I've driven that part of the M25 more times than is probably good for me but I haven't noticed anything unusual that would give r... 5 May 2010 20:33
Fords
A few questions that occur to me about fords: 1) Why is the warning sign for fords a worded warning? I'd have thought that a) it's easy enough to come up with a picture to illustrate a ford b) non-English-speaking visitors driving in the UK would be unlikely to know the word "ford", but prior warning of a ford... 9 May 2010 03:36

Pay back time for Nu Labour travel policies?
Over the last 13 years motorists and air travellers have been persecuted and taxed to death by Gordon Brown and Co. Remember the fuel duty escalator, attacks on 4x4 SUVs, special VED on new large engined cars, Congestion Charges, Airport Passenger Duty, poorly maintained potholed roads despite all the motoring taxe... 7 May 2010 11:11
